Professor Alfred Russel Wallace, LL.D., wrote:—
"I am unable to attend your Conference,
but wish you every success in your crusade against the unjust, cruel, and pernicious vaccination laws. Cannot a Bill of one clause be brought in to restrict the powers of the magistrates as regards exemption certificates, within the limits indicated by the present Prime Minister when the Act was passed? He could not possibly oppose this. Another Bill, also of one clause, should be brought in, annually, till passed, to abolish all vaccination legislation whatever. Let these two Bills be made tests of all Parliamentary elections by all Anti-Vaccinators, and they will surely be passed at no distant period."
