Mr. Stevens exhibited a box of minute Coleoptera, chiefly Staphylinidae, sent by Mr. Wallace from Celebes, amongst which were several species or Philonthi and Steni. He observed that he was informed by Mr. Wallace that the Staphylinidae were no doubt as numerous in the tropics as in more temperate regions, if assiduously searched for.
