Wallace's or WGW's hand and one 1899 photograph of Fred Birch. Frederick Birch lived in Liverpool as a young man and may have been born there. He apparently met A. R. Wallace some time in the 1890's and later emigrated with his wife to Brazil, where he worked as a professional collector of natural history specimens c. 1910.
