Wallace's letter of Feb 2, re the possibility that the families might be related, giving details of his late father David Wallace and enclosing a photo of him. Enclosure: small sepia photo: portrait of an old bearded man seated on a chair on a lawn beside the wall of a house. He is smoking a pipe, and wearing waistcoat and watch-chain. The print is annotated on the back in two different hands: top: "David Wallace | Born Aug 14 1832 in England | Died, Dec 11. 1906 in La Crosse Wis. USA." and bottom "His son J. E. Wallace says the portrait of A. R.W. in the 'Illus. Lond. News' Sep. 28, 1912, is a better portrait of his father than any he has!" Envelope addressed to A. R.
